In modern technology, wax molds are not only directly carved with wax, but also obtained by silica gel molding of metal original molds (plates), and then wax molds are obtained by injecting wax into silica gel negative molds. The casting material is no longer clay, but cast gypsum. Such products are much finer than ancient castings. |
